Back in the Saddle
As Annette and I move into a new season of ministry, we find ourselves using giftings and training that had been dormant for a season. It’s like saddling back up and getting on the trail again after having spent a season doing something completely different. Sermon preparation, intercession, hospital visitation, hearing God’s voice for a body of believers – these are some of our daily tasks. Facing these daily responsibilities causes us to be stretched. In fact, the saddle may even be uncomfortable at times, but these minor discomforts are a small price to pay for being on the journey.
Included in these new tasks is the opportunity to get to know our new church family. Each of you is unique and has a special position to fulfill in the Body of Christ. We consider it a great opportunity to work with the elders to help each individual move toward their calling. Do you have areas of your life that have been dormant? Are you in a position where you are ready to be stretched? Are you ready to be on the trail – taking your next step? Let’s saddle up and ride together.
2 Timothy 1:6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. (NASB)
